From the cobblestone streets of Finland to the red brick of the Gaslamp Quarter, Henry's Pub serves as a gathering place for all - rich, poor, young, and old alike.
Henry's Pub is the dream of Osvi "Jack" Niemi. As a young musician, he played in pubs and taverns all over Finland and the neighboring countries. Soon he grew tired of wandering. He had dreams of his own place to play his music. Then, in 1969, after scraping and saving from his late night gigs, he was finally able to buy his own pub in a small town called Kuopio, Finland: HENRY'S PUB. It was a success, and shortly thereafter he opened another Henry's Pub west of Kuopio in a town called Tampere.
Since then Osvi and the Niemi family have bought and sold many bars, pubs, and restaurants, but Henry's Pub has always remained the cornerstone of the family business.
Some things have changed since the early years of the first Henry's Pub, but one thing has remained the same. Henry's Pub is built on the tradition of a gathering place for friends to eat, drink, and enjoy great music. We have now found a home in San Diego, California. Owned and operated by son Kai Niemi and family...the tradition continues. |
